What We do
ORPHAN CARE
When you ask an orphan what they want for Christmas, and they ask for a new toothbrush, socks, or underwear, you get a glimpse of the needs facing these children. Throughout the past 21 years, thousands of pounds of humanitarian aid have been provided to meet these needs. We provide Christmas, Easter, graduation gifts and celebrations, all of which bring big smiles to their faces. We’ve also provided new washing machines, security cameras, computer labs, renovated rooms, purchased new beds and other furniture, paid for renovation of restrooms, and much more. Our local volunteers spend quality time with the children doing crafts and recreation with the children, teaching life skills, and sharing with them God’s love through word and song.
ART THERAPY
For many years children with learning disabilities were told they could do nothing and would never be able to do anything with their life. In 2016, Fory Orphan Care began sponsoring an art therapy program for children with special needs. From learning to hold and cut with scissors, paintings that win awards in city-wide art competitions, baking delicious cookies, and making booklets in Braille for blind children so they can learn to read, these children are acquiring skills and self-esteem.
BRIDGE BUILDERS
Our goal is to foster better relationships between U.S. and Fory citizens. One way we do this is by working with Junior and Senior high school students to assist them with their English skills. We also invest extra time in the lives of 20± vulnerable and at-risk children by doing crafts, recreation, and sharing stories with these students. Distrust and fear have been replaced with friendships.
